What that means in practice

The tours listed here are sold through GetYourGuide and Viator. When you follow a link from one of these pages and go on to book, the platform pays us a share of its own commission. You pay the same fare either way; the price on the booking page is the operator's price, not a marked-up one.

What we are not

We are not a tour operator. We do not run any of these tours, employ any of these guides, drivers or pilots, or hold your booking. Your contract is with the operator, through the platform.

We have no connection with the Times Square Alliance, NYC Tourism + Conventions, the City of New York, the National Park Service, the MTA, NJ Transit, or any tour, cruise or flight company.

How tours get listed

Operators cannot pay for placement, position or a badge. A badge on a card is a measured claim: Top rated only on a tour rated 4.9 or higher, Best seller only on the tour with the most reviews, Best value only on the lowest fare one person can book. A platform's own badge is not shown.

Today Best seller sits on Circle Line's Harbor Lights cruise from Pier 83, which has the most reviews. Best value sits on Circle Line's Statue of Liberty sunset cruise from Pier 16, the lowest fare at $27 a person. Top rated sits on the Greenwich Village haunted walk, rated 5.0 from 100 reviews, the highest rating of any tour with more than a few dozen reviews. A few smaller tours also show 5.0, from a handful of reviews each.

The featured tours at the top of the homepage are three different ways to spend the evening from three different starts: a cruise from Pier 83, a closed-top bus from 8th Avenue, and a helicopter flight from Linden Airport in New Jersey.

Some operators sell the same tour more than once. Circle Line's Harbor Lights cruise and ExperienceNYC's night bus are each listed on both platforms. One operator runs two different bar walks from the same kerb, and another sells its New Jersey skyline tour both shared and private. None of these is shown side by side, and each listing is described from its own page.

Prices, ratings and how current they are

Prices, star ratings and review counts belong to the operators and were taken from their own listings on 27 September 2026. They move, and the figure at checkout is the one that counts. Every fare is quoted in US dollars, the currency the listings were captured in. A price is shown as the whole dollar below it, so $78.57 reads as $78.

One bus listing was on an offer when it was captured, at $42 against a higher struck-through price, with no end date shown. Its card shows the offer fare and says so. Where a listing showed a struck-through "was" price, only the price you would actually pay is shown.

Some fares are per person and some per vehicle or group, and each price says which. The private night flight by plane is priced per person although your party flies alone, and it is the one listing that is non-refundable.

Facts about places, such as opening hours, come from their own official pages: the Empire State Building, One World Observatory, the National Park Service for the Statue of Liberty, the City of New York for the Brooklyn Bridge and the Staten Island Ferry, the High Line and Little Island. Sunset and dark times come from the U.S. Naval Observatory. Where a detail comes from a listing, such as a meeting point, a start time or what the fare covers, it belongs to that tour.

What we deliberately do not publish

A title's promise the listing does not keep. One Dyker Heights listing's inclusions say hotel pickup while it meets on 7th Avenue, so we give the corner. One van tour's inclusions say "private guide" while it is a shared departure, so we never call it private. The holiday bus's glass top is an upgrade, so we never promise it.
A guide who is not one. The private car to the Christmas lights comes with a chauffeur, and the listing leaves a guide out; we never call it guided. One sunset cruise has an app and music, not a live guide, and we say so.
A hop-on hop-off night bus. Neither open-top night bus lets you get off along the way, and we never suggest otherwise.
Numbers the listing gets wrong. One flight's listing gives its length as a day, and one bus's FAQ names another city, so we print neither. Where a walk publishes no start time, we do not call it a night walk.
Figures no official source settles. Hours for places with no official page to cite, this year's Christmas-tree date, house counts in Dyker Heights, or crime figures.
