What a skyline night tour of New York is
It is the trip to the other side of the river, where the view of Manhattan is. From inside the
city you see one street of towers at a time. From Dumbo, Long Island City or the Jersey shore you
see the whole wall of them lit, with the water in front.
Most of these tours are vans that drive you out and give you time on foot at each
waterfront. The Dumbo and Queens tour stops twice, for over an hour each. The Jersey vans make
eight shorter stops, from Liberty State Park at the harbor's edge to Hoboken and Weehawken. One
van runs in Spanish and ends outside a Midtown tower at about 10:30pm. The private plane takes
the same idea into the air.

Jersey tour is $889 for up to four, or $222 each for a full group; the plane is

- Where: the Jersey vans board on 7th Avenue at 51st Street, or at 370 7th
Avenue at 5:50pm; the Spanish-guided van meets on West 49th Street. They are on our

- When: these tours run into the evening, so in June the first stop can come
before full dark at 9:02pm. The sunset and dark times by month show the month you travel.
- Seats: every traveller on the Jersey vans needs a seat, and you bring the
child seat. Parties may be seated apart.
- Booking: the vans refund in full up to 24 hours ahead. The plane does not
refund at all.

Who should choose something else
- If you use a wheelchair. Only the Spanish-guided van is listed as
wheelchair accessible. The night boat tours include a boat listed as accessible.
- If you do not speak Spanish. Skip that van; its guide speaks Spanish. The
Jersey vans may run in English and Spanish.
- If your plans might change. The plane cannot be refunded, and the Jersey
van may ask you to move nights in poor visibility.
- If four hours is too long. The night bus tours include a closed-top bus with 20
minutes in Dumbo inside three hours.
- If you want to look down on the towers. The night helicopter tours fly over them.
